Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our financial management team, you will be responsible for managing a team of financial analysts and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting for the ministry and department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of financial analysts to prepare financial statements and analyses in accordance with legislation, guidelines, and accounting principles.
  • Develop and implement robust reporting processes to ensure accuracy and consistency with accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and research best practices in financial reporting.
  • Ensure the financial reporting team delivers outcomes associated with business and operational plans and performance agreements.
Requirements
  • University graduation in a field related to the position assignment, supplemented by four (4) years related experience.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is considered an asset.
  • Experience with government reporting and/or consolidations is a significant asset.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of related legislation, audit requirements, policy, and regulations.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
