About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Worker to join our team at Anderson Blake Security Inc. as a Building Maintenance Technician. This is a permanent position that requires a strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Coordinate with contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment, and maintain inventory of supplies to ensure efficient operations.
  • Conduct safety and security checks, and identify areas for improvement to enhance overall security and safety.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Work collaboratively with skilled tradespersons to ensure seamless operations and high-quality results.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in various locations, including indoor and outdoor settings, and be willing to relocate as required.
  • Handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Work in all weather conditions, and be able to adapt to changing environments.
Personal Qualities and Skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong initiative and judgment to make informed decisions and take action when necessary.
  • Excellent organizational and reliability skills to ensure timely completion of tasks and maintain high-quality results.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work 35 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
