About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Worker to join our team at Anderson Blake Security Inc. as a Building Maintenance Technician. This is a permanent position that requires a strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Coordinate with contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment, and maintain inventory of supplies to ensure efficient operations.
  • Conduct safety and security checks, and work with minimal supervision to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons as needed, and maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with various locations, and be willing to relocate as needed. The work site environment will include all weather conditions, and the candidate must be able to handle heavy loads and physically demanding tasks.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, and reliability are essential qualities for this role.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
  • English language proficiency is required.
