About the Role

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives to join our ScotiaMcLeod team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and leading the implementation of high-impact projects and strategies that support our long-term vision and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives that require direct interaction with key stakeholders, including business partners and senior executives.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and internal assessments to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Manage assigned projects, including scope, budget, risk, resources, plan, and internal/external communications.
  • Support the ScotiaMcLeod leadership team in planning, implementing, and monitoring internal, cross-functional programs and procedures.
  • Proactively identify initiatives and processes that contribute to efficient and effective operation of the business.
  • Develop and implement change management activities related to projects and initiatives assigned.
  • Lead frequent meetings with stakeholders to ensure projects and initiatives are kept on track.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
  • Project Management (PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate strategy, consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills combined with outstanding business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic environment.
  • Advanced knowledge in financial analysis and leadership skills in Building Strategic Relationships and Customer Focus.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
