About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our Traffic Management team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC - K03. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance software that manages website traffic, detects and blocks security threats, and enables Amazon's businesses to launch new websites and countries quickly and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software that routes and manages website traffic, detects and blocks security threats, and enables Amazon's businesses to launch new websites and countries quickly and safely.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, develop technical solutions, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure software that meets Amazon's business needs and technical standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and ensure that code meets Amazon's coding standards and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Amazon's technical roadmap to ensure that our software remains competitive and innovative.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
