Job Summary

PCL Constructors Northern Ontario Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Health Safety Environment Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, contractors, and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks, and verify corrective actions have been implemented.
  • Provide HSE training and awareness programs to project teams, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement emergency response plans, and monitor project security requirements.
  • Review and provide input on trade documentation, and monitor trade contractor safety compliance.
  • Verify that equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per requirements.
  • Investigate incidents and notify appropriate stakeholders, and develop and maintain positive relationships with project teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Working toward a safety designation.
  • 1 to 2 years of construction experience.
  • Ability to learn applicable OH&S, environmental legislation, and HSE processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve.
  • Ability to learn construction processes and terminology.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
