As a Senior Director, Accounting Policy and Governance, you will lead the Accounting Policy & Auditor Independence team at Royal Bank of Canada, a leading financial institution. This is an opportunity to shape the bank's accounting and financial reporting practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of professionals to provide expert accounting advice on complex matters to internal stakeholders
- Review and assess complex accounting transactions and policy assessments
- Oversee the delivery of critical elements of the bank's quarterly external reporting process
- Develop and deliver Audit Committee materials that tell the bank's story with a commercial lens
- Drive transformation of the Auditor Independence function to streamline activities while mitigating risk
- Shape future accounting and disclosure requirements through advocacy efforts
- Build and develop strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
This is a contract position with a dynamic and collaborative team culture. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to bring their unique perspective and approach to the role, shaping the bank's accounting and financial reporting practices.
