Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team. As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation: Assist in developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Assisting Early Childhood Educators: Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Engagement and Activities: Engage children in various activities, such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, to promote their cognitive and creative development.
  • Health and Safety: Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Licensing and Regulations: Familiarize yourself with licensing regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, and contribute to the development of strategies to address these issues.
Certifications and Training
  • Child Development Worker (ECE Level 2)
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who have been displaced by conflict or natural disasters.
  • Support for Youth: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth and provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations.
