Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at The Wolf Creek School Division. As a key member of our educational support team, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to preschool students with diverse needs within an inclusive classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with complex needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Assist students with personal care and hygiene, including toileting and lifting, while maintaining a calm and patient approach to problem-solving.
  • Work effectively in a team-oriented learning environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a positive personality.
  • Support students with complex behavioral needs, utilizing strategies that promote positive behavior and social skills.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with complex needs and a strong understanding of inclusive education principles.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with students, teachers, and parents in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents to achieve student outcomes.
  • Ability to work one-on-one or with small groups of students, adapting to the unique needs of each student.
  • Background and/or experience with complex behavioral needs, with a strong understanding of strategies that promote positive behavior and social skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification or diploma, with experience working in an early childhood education setting.
  • Training in areas such as positive behavioral supports, crisis intervention, and first aid.
Compensation

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary range of $18.01 to $25.31 per hour, dependent on experience and education.
