About the Role

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Apprentice to join our team at our Fort Erie location. As a Maintenance Apprentice, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper performance and safety of our company vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and tire rotations to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Assist mechanics with repairs and projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Conduct vehicle safety inspections and identify areas for improvement.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Basic hand tools and willingness to secure additional tools as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, as needed.
Working Conditions

The Maintenance Apprentice will work in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions. May be exposed to unpleasant sights, smells, and to dangerous and/or toxic substances.
