We are currently in search of a Senior Project Manager to become a vital part of our team. SNC-Lavalin specializes in designing, developing, and delivering engineering solutions, including system planning, procurement, and construction services for high voltage power transmission and substation projects across North America and beyond.
This role will report directly to the Director of Project Delivery. The selected candidate will collaborate with other discipline managers, technical leads, and project managers, overseeing project management across various initiatives within the team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, with extensive design and leadership experience. A proactive self-starter, the candidate should be prepared to manage multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities simultaneously. The Senior Project Manager will oversee various activities, including budget management, scheduling, quality assurance, engineering, procurement support, construction management assistance, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, escalate, and manage potential contractual and commercial risks.
- Set objectives, define tasks for the project team, delegate authority, and coordinate with the project director on risk-sharing strategies.
- Manage projects both technically and financially, adhering to corporate policies and procedures while safeguarding the project's commercial interests.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among clients and project teams, including subcontractors and partners.
- Oversee all technical documentation necessary for project execution, including technical studies, design bases, conceptual and detailed designs, technical specifications, fieldwork, tender phase services, construction phase services, and record drawings.
- Establish and maintain an environment conducive to ethical and professional practices in engineering execution.
- Ensure successful project delivery in accordance with agreed-upon targets, such as schedule, budget, and quality.
- Implement health and safety rules and procedures to protect employees and the environment, proactively identifying areas for improvement.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Project management accreditation (PMP) is a plus.
- 5-10 years of project management experience, preferably within a large design team.
- Thorough understanding of engineering principles and project management processes.

- Experience in Transmission and Distribution, working with major utilities, and in an EPCM environment is highly valued.
