Job Description: Funeral Director

As a Funeral Director at SCI, you will play a vital role in guiding families through the difficult process of arranging funeral services. Your responsibilities encompass all aspects of funeral arrangements, cremation ceremonies, and interment, ensuring that each service reflects the unique wishes of the bereaved family.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate support and guidance to families during their time of grief, answering inquiries and offering assistance with funeral arrangements.
  • Collaborate with families to personalize funeral services, selecting appropriate options for memorialization, final disposition, and other details.
  • Ensure the respectful care of the deceased, including transportation, identification, embalming, dressing, styling, and makeup preparation.
  • Conduct funeral services and memorial ceremonies with professionalism and empathy, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to funeral arrangements and post-death services.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and guidelines from professional, municipal, provincial, and federal authorities.
  • Contribute to the overall smooth operation of the funeral home by assisting with general office tasks and property maintenance.
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A Thanatopracteur diploma from Quebec.
  • Experience as a thanatopractor or funeral director, preferably with 2 years of experience.
  • A valid Quebec driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
