Performance Advisor, Sustainability Expert

About the Role:

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) is seeking a highly skilled Performance Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Growth & Development - Green Municipal Fund (GMF) department, you will play a critical role in promoting sustainable practices and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Canadian municipalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement performance measurement tracking and reporting systems to monitor progress towards GMF's sustainability goals.
  2. Lead the preparation and execution of third-party audits and performance data analysis to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  3. Support the development of new initiatives and programs to promote sustainable community development and environmental stewardship.
  4. Maintain and improve PMF systems, including data management strategy, data accuracy, and completeness.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure indicator data is accessible and well-managed.
  6. Consult with Program and Communications staff to ensure accurate and relevant project benefits data and information.
  7. Develop and analyze qualitative and quantitative PMF indicator data to inform decision-making.
  8. Design and manage research projects related to data management and visualization.
  9. Provide expert advice on tools and processes to achieve GMF priorities.

Requirements:

  1. Post-secondary education in business administration, project management, environmental science, planning, or a related field.
  2. 5-7 years of experience in project and/or program management roles, with a focus on sustainability and environmental impact.
  3. Strong analytical skills, including quantitative analysis, computer skills, and qualitative analysis.
  4. Excellent writing, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and support interdepartmental research interests and activities.
  6. Strong knowledge of databases, data management techniques, and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  7. Excellent research and project coordination skills.
  8. Ability to work in both official languages (English and French) is considered an asset.
