Job Title: Sonographer

About the Role:

Lakeridge Health is seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our team. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for utilizing ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality sonographic images required to complete examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the general supervision of Radiologists, Charge Sonographer, Senior Sonographer &/or Manager, you will utilize ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality sonographic images.
  • You will be responsible for completing examinations as requested, ensuring excellent and prompt patient care.
  • You will work effectively with the team to prioritize requests and adapt standard work procedures to emergency situations.
  • You will be part of the ultrasound standby rotation and respond within the time limit of a call back.

Requirements:

  • You must have successful completion of a recognized Ultrasound program.
  • You must be currently registered with the C.M.R.I.T.O.
  • You must have significant experience in abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, neuro, and interventional ultrasound procedures.
  • You must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You must have proven organizational skills.
  • You must have demonstrated ability to work under pressure and exercise independent judgment.
  • You must have demonstrated ability to assess requests and prioritize them to ensure excellent and prompt patient care.
  • You must have proven ability to adapt standard work procedures to emergency situations.
  • You must be physically capable of bending, lifting, turning, transferring patients manually and with mechanical aids.
  • You must have satisfactory performance record.

  • You must have demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions.

Conditions of Employment:

  • The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
  • Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
