Nurse Specialist

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and evaluate patient care, providing nursing care according to the standards of practice for Registered Nurses.
- Work in a fast-paced, complex, and highly technologically integrated environment.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field.
- Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in good standing.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Previous Emergency Department experience as a Registered Nurse (within 2 years) will be given preference.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is an asset.
- Completion of an Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses of Trauma Nursing Care Competency course is an asset.
- Current Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification and/or current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is an asset.
- Successful completion of the HHS Critical Practice orientation program or Critical Care certificate will be given preference.
- Understanding of, and commitment to applying principles of Elder Friendly Care.
- Able to problem solve and apply critical thinking skills in a rapidly changing environment.
- Commitment to working as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team to ensure the best care for all.
- Commitment to providing an Excellent Patient Experience with each patient and family.
- Evidence of consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Commitment to ongoing learning within and outside of the workplace.
