OCAD University invites applications for a sessional instructor position in the Faculty of Arts & Science. The successful candidate will teach an interdisciplinary course on Queer Theories, exploring histories and theories of sexualities and the politics of representation.
Course Description:This course will analyze various fields of production and thought, including art and design, as well as popular and alternative medias. Theoretical writings on the histories and constructions of multiple sexualities and gendered subjectivities will be critically examined as sites for emergent communities.
Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver course outlines, studio preparation, and lectures, critiques, grading, mid-term evaluations, and final evaluations/reviews.
- Ensure health and safety protocols are met and academic and curricular requirements are fulfilled.
- A terminal degree in art, design, or a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional/practical experience.
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is considered an asset.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment.
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6,000 per 0.5 credit course, plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
