About the Role

As a key member of our team, the HVAC Technician will be responsible for a range of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across various facilities. Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Maintenance and Operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance of our climate control systems.

Your Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in air conditioning and refrigeration.
  • Possession of a valid Nova Scotia Journeyperson Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Certificate.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in the field as a journeyperson.
  • Strong understanding of relevant safety regulations and codes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with a proven capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • A willingness to learn and engage in ongoing training opportunities.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients.
  • A valid Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Availability for on-call duties as needed.
  • Experience with commercial refrigeration equipment, such as chillers and cooling towers, is an asset.
Work Schedule
  • This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 75 hours of work bi-weekly.
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $32.65. Successful candidates may also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
