We are seeking qualified, casual Recreation Support Staff to enhance our team. If you are a dedicated team player, we would love to hear from you.
The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional care and support to seniors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with various activities that promote their overall wellbeing, while observing and reporting any changes to the Recreation Therapist/Coordinator or Director of Clinical Care.
- Implement activities tailored to the needs, abilities, interests, and preferences of residents, adjusting programs as necessary to accommodate changing populations.
- Engage residents in a variety of activities, encouraging participation and facilitating enjoyment.
- Organize and conduct recreational programs such as arts & crafts, sports, music, cooking, gardening, and physical exercise, ensuring all supplies and equipment are prepared.
- Oversee resident activities outside the facility, ensuring appropriate attire and equipment are available, and coordinating movements during these activities.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized Recreation/Rehabilitation/Kinesiology Certificate.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a seniors' housing or care environment, delivering programs within a social model framework is preferred.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector - Criminal Record Check.
- Negative TB screen and Immunization Record.
- Current CPR certification.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Class 4 (Unrestricted) Drivers' License (with potential for exceptions).
- Ability to perform extended periods of walking and standing.
- Capability to lift, carry, bend, and reach as required.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proof of full and current COVID-19 vaccinations.
Compensation: Starting at $28.74 per hour, aligned with provincial wage standards.
