Job Summary

Smartway Freight Systems Inc. is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials across various routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mountain Driving Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in driving on mountainous terrain, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional demeanor and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Permits and Documents: Obtain and maintain necessary permits and documents for international routes, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
  • Brake Adjustments: Perform brake adjustments and other routine maintenance tasks to ensure safe operation of the vehicle.
  • Inspections: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, ensuring all aspects of the vehicle are in good working order.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring timely updates on delivery status.
  • Cargo Management: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
Certifications and Licenses
  • AZ Class License: Possess a valid AZ class license, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Communication Systems
  • GPS and Navigation: Operate GPS and other navigation equipment, ensuring efficient routing and delivery.
Transportation Experience
  • Local and Long-Haul: Possess experience in local and long-haul transportation, ensuring adaptability to various routes and conditions.
Security and Safety
  • Driver's Validity License Check: Conduct regular driver's validity license checks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Driving Record Check: Maintain a clean driving record, ensuring a valid abstract.
Work Environment
  • Travel Expenses: Travel expenses are paid by the employer, ensuring a competitive compensation package.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Willingness to Travel: Willing to travel cross-border, for extended periods, and overnight, ensuring adaptability to various routes and conditions.
