About the Role

The Senior Data Scientist will play a key role in the development of Artificial Intelligence driven sensing solutions designed for the food and agriculture sector. This position requires a highly skilled individual who can contribute to the development and implementation of Artificial Intelligence Platforms that include various machine learning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of Savormetrics' Artificial Intelligence Platform, leveraging expertise in machine learning algorithms and data processing methods.
  • Lead the development of machine learning algorithms, including artificial neural networks, deep learning, self/auto learning, and SVMs for various customer applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement analytics software solutions for customers.
  • Develop feature engineering techniques to improve the accuracy and efficiency of machine learning models.
  • Design and implement data collection and interpretation software solutions to support business decisions.
  • Understand customer product requirements and how they relate to AI training and prediction design.
  • Use research/customer data sets to develop new algorithms for increased accuracy and efficiency for hardware devices.
  • Manage and analyze large datasets for R&D and product development.
  • Ensure the use of appropriate software platforms to complement hardware for optimal performance, meeting customer requirements.
  • Develop advanced domain knowledge of the business sectors being focused on.
  • Design, execute, and report on commercial testing.
  • Provide support in development and participation in workshops, conferences, and other events, working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide second-line support for customer issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with all members of the team.
  • Fulfill additional work-related duties as required/assigned.
Requirements
  • High-functioning MASC or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on industry-related experience with machine learning, artificial neural networks, deep learning, statistical learning, pattern recognition, image processing for information extraction and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of image processing techniques.
  • Experience with software/hardware interfacing would be an asset.
  • Experience in optics/scientific instrumentation space is beneficial.
