Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team at School District #48 (Sea to Sky). As an Education Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with physical disabilities, chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities, and/or social, emotional, and behavioral problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to students under the direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s).
  • Support the achievement of stated program goals and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with the education team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Provide basic first aid and emergency care as needed.
  • Assist with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Support students with communication and social skills development.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year's related experience.
  • A special program would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of basic First Aid.
  • Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie. computers, etc).
