About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Swing Route Driver to join our team at GFL Environmental. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of solid waste and recyclables in Rocky View County, AB.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate one or more vehicle types, including Front End, Roll Off, Residential, and other trucks, to collect solid waste and recyclables on assigned routes.
  • Deliver collected materials to landfill, MRF, or transfer station, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Fill in for various routes as needed to maintain consistent service levels.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, complete daily truck reports, and maintain accurate records of services performed.
  • Communicate vehicle mechanical issues to the mechanic and supervisor promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, equipment checks, and precautions while performing duties.
  • Conform to federal, state/provincial, local, and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment is worn at all times.
  • Report accidents or incidents to supervisors immediately.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor, manner, and appearance at all times.

Requirements:

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License.
  • Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
  • Ability to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
  • Ability to demonstrate safe driving and equipment operation skills.
