Job Summary

At Whistler 99 Courier and Freightways Corporation, we are seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across various locations, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the highest level of safety and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring accurate and efficient handling.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, maintaining a clean and well-maintained vehicle.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle integrity.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Permanent work term
  • English as the primary work language
  • 32 to 40 hours of work per week
