Position Overview

The role of a Culinary Specialist at Dairy Queen involves a variety of responsibilities centered around food preparation and kitchen management.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years in a similar role or equivalent experience
Work Environment

This position is set within a restaurant environment, providing a dynamic and fast-paced atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a range of meals and individual dishes
  • Conduct inspections of kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling
  • Manage inventory by ordering necessary supplies and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen personnel and assistants
  • Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and work areas
  • Oversee overall kitchen operations
Supervisory Responsibilities

As a Culinary Specialist, you will supervise other cooks and kitchen staff.

Certifications
  • Safe Food Handling certificate
  • Food Safety Certificate
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work under pressure
Work Schedule

This is a permanent position requiring approximately 40 hours per week with English as the primary work language.
