We are currently seeking a full-time Field Technician to become a vital part of our construction team.
This role will report directly to the Field Supervisor and collaborate closely with the Site Supervisor to perform various general labor tasks, including lifting, digging, and maintaining site cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute tasks as directed by the Site Supervisor, which may encompass excavation, demolition, material handling, workstation setup and teardown, minor carpentry, tool upkeep, and assisting trade contractors.
- Engage in lifting, digging, and relocating equipment and materials as necessary.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of hand tools and demonstrate the ability to utilize them effectively.
- Report any issues, damages, hazardous conditions, or oversights to the Site Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness at job sites, ensuring debris is disposed of properly and performing general tidying as instructed.
- Assist the Site Supervisor with material deliveries, including unloading trucks and organizing materials for protection against weather exposure.
- Perform winter duties such as de-icing, snow shoveling, and providing heat to homes under construction.
- Ensure excavated areas, trenches, and holes are clearly marked for safety.
- Keep model homes orderly through regular housekeeping efforts.
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of construction safety protocols.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Dependability and reliability.
- Capability to operate hand and power tools.
- Valid driver's license.
- A criminal background check is mandatory.
- Ability to lift weights exceeding 50 pounds on a daily basis.
- Valid certifications in CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Arrest, and Lift Equipment are advantageous; training will be provided by the company.
Physical Demand Requirements:
- VISION: Ability to see near and far, with tasks requiring monitoring of processes and objects at varying distances.
- HEARING: Effective verbal communication with colleagues is essential.
- BODY POSITION: Work involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- LIMB COORDINATION: Tasks require coordination of upper and lower limbs simultaneously.
- STRENGTH: High strength is required, with the ability to handle loads between 10 and 50 pounds.
- ENVIRONMENT: Primarily outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- HEIGHT: Capability to work at elevated levels using ladders and scaffolding.
This position is safety-sensitive, and proper execution of tasks is crucial to prevent incidents that could impact the health and safety of employees, contractors, the public, or the environment. Working Conditions: This is a field-based role requiring travel between job sites. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional weekend and evening work as needed.
