The Arctic Co-ops is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Store Manager to lead the operations of our Yellowknife store. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving business results, leading a team of department managers, and ensuring the overall success of the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Provide strong leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to department managers and their teams to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among staff members.
- Provide support to department managers in managing resources effectively to generate net savings that meet and exceed budgeted targets.
- Lead departments to achieve financial targets in sales, margins, expenses, and profits.
- Support the General Manager in achieving the financial goals of the store.
- Assist departments in adhering to their designated margins and ensure they are managing them effectively.
- Support and coach managers on the proper management of merchandise.
- Ensure all merchandising meets the quality standards of the Co-ops.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, the Collective Agreement, and operational regulatory requirements, including food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, inventory management.
- Oversee and provide day-to-day management of department managers.
- Provide leadership in the area of employee relations, hiring, training, and development.
- Maintain a positive work environment with strong morale.
