Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Provide strong leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to department managers and their teams to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among staff members.
  • Provide support to department managers in managing resources effectively to generate net savings that meet and exceed budgeted targets.
  • Lead departments to achieve financial targets in sales, margins, expenses, and profits.
  • Support the General Manager in achieving the financial goals of the store.
  • Assist departments in adhering to their designated margins and ensure they are managing them effectively.
  • Support and coach managers on the proper management of merchandise.
  • Ensure all merchandising meets the quality standards of the Co-ops.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, the Collective Agreement, and operational regulatory requirements, including food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, inventory management.
  • Oversee and provide day-to-day management of department managers.
  • Provide leadership in the area of employee relations, hiring, training, and development.
  • Maintain a positive work environment with strong morale.
