Job Description

Brock Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Trainee to join our estimating team. As an Engineering Trainee, you will play a crucial role in accurately calculating the total costs associated with tendering scopes of work in the Industrial sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce comprehensive estimates of costs associated with projects, including material, labor, and equipment requirements.
  • Analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement estimating procedures and best practices.
  • Travel to operational sites for surveys and meetings to gather information and provide technical support.
  • Consult with company managers, supervisors, and foremen to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and technical support to management and supervisors on estimating-related matters.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction.
  • Ability to problem-solve, organize, and prioritize in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional and concise communication in written and verbal form.
