About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Burlington Charcoal Pit. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure they are clean and well-maintained.
  • Staff Training: Train kitchen staff and helpers in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, and manage kitchen operations to ensure smooth service.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Clean kitchen and work areas, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for our customers and staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Work Setting: Fast food outlet or concession.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and stand for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication skills, dependability, flexibility, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
