Main Responsibilities

New Business

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers to negotiate and determine insurance rates, terms, and conditions.
  • Underwrite and service new business in accordance with program guidelines, ensuring a high level of quality and expertise.
  • Represent Groupassur at industry events, fostering business relationships and promoting our brand.
  • Collaborate with Junior Underwriters to develop business relationships with brokers through marketing visits.

Renewals

  • Provide guidance and support to Junior Underwriters for negotiating and issuing renewals, ensuring seamless policy management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify current and future opportunities, driving business growth and development.
  • Verify insurance policies, wordings, and standards to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Review certificate referrals with Junior Underwriters, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

Endorsements

  • Provide guidance and support to Junior Underwriters for negotiating and issuing requested endorsements, ensuring efficient policy management.
  • Approve cancellation of policies forwarded by Junior Underwriters, ensuring seamless policy administration.
Requirements
  • 5 to 10 years of Marine Cargo Insurance experience, with a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices.
  • Insurance diploma or equivalent is an asset, demonstrating a high level of technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to synthesize information and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of service and computer skills.
