Job Description
The Vehicle Performance Engineer (VPE) will lead the development of customer-centric solutions, setting technical objectives, and conducting testing for assigned vehicle projects. As a functional area lead, the VPE will oversee development and execution within the Body, Interior, or Electrical domain on a specific vehicle project.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate performance status and discuss issue resolution.
- Engage in hands-on vehicle activities such as testing, inspection, and interrogation.
- Benchmark internal fleet or competitive sets.
- Collaborate with shops to manage vehicle updates.
- Track vehicle performance progress using internal scorecard documents and systems.
- Present updates to senior leadership at weekly escalation meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 5 years of relevant automotive product development experience.
- Experience working with automotive components/systems/vehicles.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
- Strong communication skills with all levels, with the ability to simplify technical issues into meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
- Ability to work in a team, build good working relationships, and gain consensus.
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task, and prioritize workload.
- Valid driver's license.
About the Role
This position is based in Auburn Hills, MI. The candidate must be a Canadian Citizen to be eligible for the TN Visa.
