Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant

The Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) plays a vital role in the healthcare team at Baycrest, providing clinical care to patients with various conditions. This role involves working in a dynamic environment, collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver treatment services to patients, including ambulation and transfer training, activities of daily living, and instrumental activities of daily living.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve maximum physical and functional goals.
- Provide indirect care, such as sewing modifications, adaptive clothing, and environmental modifications.
- Assist patients in purchasing equipment and participate in supervision of OTA/PTA students and volunteers.
- Diploma in Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) from an accredited college program.
- Recent and related experience, preferably in a dual role, or a 30-hour refresher course completed within the last six months.
- Knowledge of occupational therapy and physiotherapy areas of practice, including activities of daily living, assistive devices, and home safety.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Meditech, MDS, SERS, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
