About the Role:

The University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management is seeking a highly skilled Research Officer to join its Advancement team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing prospect and general research services to support the School's fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify potential donors and provide detailed background data on their interests and philanthropic goals.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the business and philanthropic communities, including trends and developments that may impact fundraising efforts.
  • Assess and select prospective donors using independent judgment and expertise.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement team to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a research-intensive role, preferably in a business or academic environment.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Library and Information Science or Master of Journalism.
  • Knowledge of university practices and cultures, as well as the business community.
  • Experience with database management and desktop publishing.
