Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator to join our team at J.D. Irving, Limited. As a key member of our construction management team, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and aid the construction management team in managing project activities, including administration of multi-disciplinary projects.
- Prepare tender call documents and construction contract documents.
- Develop cost estimates for setting of budgets for contemplated projects and prepare cost estimates for contemplated changes to existing projects.
- Monitor timelines and inventory to ensure there are no delays and interruptions in projects and operations.
- Coordinate the project schedule, monitor deadlines, and write status reports.
- Set up and administer building maintenance contracts and preventive maintenance programs.
- Contribute to the establishing and controlling the project budget.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in engineering or construction technology and 2 years experience with a track record of success in the administration of multi-discipline (architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, structural) construction projects.
- Ability to read and understand engineering and architectural design drawings.
- Strong analytical skills to apply toward settlement of disputes that may arise with contractors over contractual terms and obligations.
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
- Willingness to travel.
