About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Game Designer to join our team at Summit Squad, a mobile games studio in Calgary, Canada. As a Game Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our games and creating engaging experiences for millions of players worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop game mechanics, systems, and features that drive player engagement and revenue.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements and meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct user research and analysis to inform design decisions and optimize player experience.
  • Develop and maintain game economies, balancing customer experience and revenue opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve game design and development.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in game design, preferably on a mid-core game.
  • Extensive understanding of free-to-play game design, systems, mechanics, and feature design.
  • Solid knowledge of game balancing and pacing, with a logical and analytical approach.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and trade-offs.
  • Strong understanding of game design principles, player psychology, and user experience.
  • Experience with game engines, such as Unity or Unreal, and proficiency in programming languages like C# or Java.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
