About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Game Designer to join our team at Summit Squad, a mobile games studio in Calgary, Canada. As a Game Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and making pivotal decisions that directly impact the game's direction and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Create design documents, prototypes, and other necessary materials to communicate design functionality and vision.
  • Gameplay Features: Develop and improve gameplay features, balance existing elements, and maintain a healthy state of the overall game meta.
  • Game Economy: Balance customer experience and revenue opportunity for in-game currency and virtual goods, design economic models, and tune/balance simulations.
  • Event Planning: Design, plan, and execute engaging in-game events, promotions, and sales to drive player engagement and revenue.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the team on shared goals, deliver complete work, and incorporate feedback into your design.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years in the gaming industry, preferably on a mid-core game.
  • Skills: Extensive understanding of free-to-play game design, systems, mechanics, and feature design, solid knowledge of game balancing and pacing, logical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in Game Design, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
