Hours: 37.5 per week

Kinectrics is at the forefront of developing and implementing new nuclear power solutions both domestically and internationally. Our services encompass advancements in CANDU design and other innovative reactor technologies, alongside emerging applications in clean energy systems.

A newly established division, Advanced Reactor Design, is dedicated to spearheading this growth area. This division serves as a collaborative hub for reactor design and new build services, engaging with various service lines within Kinectrics to deliver comprehensive design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide the development of conceptual and detailed equipment designs through a structured design process.
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
  • Conduct mechanical engineering analyses and reactor core design evaluations.
  • Collaborate with construction and procurement partners throughout the design project lifecycle.
  • Analyze client challenges and devise effective solutions.
  • Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams on various projects.
  • Stay updated on advancements in your field of expertise.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Success

  • A degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
  • Experience in mechanical or nuclear engineering, including system design and component specifications.
  • Familiarity with nuclear safety and licensing processes is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including CSA N285 and ASME, is preferred.
  • Experience with piping and analysis software is a plus.
  • Strong time management and project management skills are beneficial.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is essential.
