About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Clinical Information Officer to join our team at North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust. As a key member of our Digital Senior Management Team, you will play a critical role in shaping our digital strategy and ensuring the safe and effective use of technology to improve patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Digital Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy that aligns with our Trust's overall goals and objectives.
  • Clinical Safety and Governance: Ensure that all clinical systems and processes are safe and effective, and that our governance framework is robust and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership to our clinical informatics team, and manage the key clinical informatic functions of Clinical & Digital Information, Information Governance, and Directory of Services.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders within the NHS and beyond, and engage effectively with staff and stakeholders in complex and sensitive environments.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Management Experience: Significant experience as a practicing clinician and a proven track record of leadership and management in a similar role or setting.
  • Digital Transformation Experience: Experience of managing and delivering successful change to critical digital systems, and a deep understanding of the value that digital technology and information brings to improving quality of care, outcomes, and efficiency.
  • Clinical Informatics Expertise: Highly developed clinical informatics expertise, including experience of working with patient information systems in a clinical setting and a strong understanding of clinical workflow across the health and social care ecosystem.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: A strong understanding of regulatory requirements around Information Governance and Clinical Records.
