About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Hall Constructors. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing and submitting estimates on behalf of our company, contributing to the overall organization by bidding on various types of work and handing over successful bids to the project team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the estimating team with competent and timely work, ensuring that all estimates are accurate and complete.
  • Work within the framework of Hall's estimating and project management guidelines and best practices, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Manage all takeoffs for the estimate, including assigned interns or project coordinators, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standard.
  • Read and understand contract documents and specifications, identifying potential risks and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with other estimators and project coordinators to deliver a competitive bid, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process.
  • Communicate with clients and subcontractors about the estimate frequently throughout the process, building strong relationships and ensuring that all needs are met.
  • Maintain accurate bid folders by organizing all addendums, quotes, drawings, and documents, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Attend all Estimator's meetings and on/off-site bid meetings, staying informed and engaged with the team.
  • Continuously update your knowledge and skills to stay current with industry standards and best practices, seeking guidance and support when needed.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their success and growth within the company.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in large scale excavation, civil infrastructure, and project management.
  • Post-secondary education or applicable work experience, with a strong understanding of estimating processes and procedures.
  • Advanced understanding of Programs/Software – HeavyBid and Heavy Job (HCSS), with the ability to complete accurate quantity takeoffs for various types of work.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
