Collections Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Collections Clerk to join our team in the distribution sector located in Mississauga.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring account activity, initiating contact with other companies to secure payment of outstanding invoices, and providing timely follow-up on payment arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor account activity and balances utilizing various systems and reports.
- Initiate contact with other companies to secure payment of outstanding invoices.
- Provide invoices and/or documentation as required to aid in the escalation of payment.
- Collect customer payments by payment due dates while adhering to established requirements and internal controls.
- Receive inbound calls and email correspondence from customers.
- Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and escalate for management feedback and involvement as necessary.
- Analyze account balance and status to recommend credit holds due to nonpayment.
- Perform collaboratively within a remote work environment interacting with appropriate teams to provide notice of delinquency and obtain assistance in the collection's effort.
- Develop and maintain a positive customer relationship.
- Research and resolve dispute issues promptly.
- Document the outcome of all customer communications.
- Postsecondary education in business administration, accounting, or bookkeeping is an asset.
- 1+ years of experience in Collections and customer service is required.
- Bilingual French proficiency is a great asset.
- Competitive pay between $23,000 and $26,000 depending on experience, higher if French bilingual.
