About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Diesel Mechanic to join our team at United Rentals of Canada, Inc. as a Service Technician III - Field Service. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of complex rental equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
  • Travel to customer job sites to repair or maintain rental or customer-owned equipment, ensuring that the service vehicle is maintained in a clean and professional manner.
  • Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed, sharing your expertise and knowledge to ensure the success of our team.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of work performed, including work orders, in a timely and complete manner.
  • Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the success of our team and the growth of our company.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is essential.
  • 3-5 years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and tools is necessary.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools is required.
  • Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines is essential.
  • Must own tools applicable to the position and be willing to use them effectively.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs. is required.
