Service Manager

Brandt is seeking a Service Manager to oversee the sales and delivery of after-market support services for our Ayr Truck & Trailer location. This role involves managing the service department, including foremen, leadmen, service writers, and shop, field, and resident heavy duty mechanics.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage service workflow and ensure adherence to established standards
- Develop and manage the Service Department budget to meet financial and operational goals
- Prepare quotes for customer work orders and open/close work orders
- Inspect and operate customer equipment to resolve concerns and diagnostics
- Monitor service revenue and expenses monthly
- Ensure work is performed according to established safety and industry standards
- Review employee performance against goals on an ongoing basis
- Effective communication and professionalism with customers, employees, and branch personnel
- Self-motivation in learning and applying new knowledge and skills, with a willingness to share knowledge with others
- Ability to travel to customer worksites and operate around heavy equipment
- Proficiency in using work-related desktop applications and web-based productivity applications
- Confidence, critical thinking, knowledge, and technical skills to assess and solve customer, business, and personnel problems effectively and efficiently
- A recent driver's abstract will be required
- 5-7 years' progressive experience in service, management, and business, including journeyperson heavy duty mechanic and 3 years' management/supervisory experience in the heavy duty equipment industry
- Solid foundation of knowledge and skill in the operation of a heavy duty equipment dealership
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, and achieve work-related objectives and goals
- Strong customer service orientation and sound judgment when dealing with customers
