Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Long Hole Drill and Blast Supervisor to join our team at Newmont Musselwhite Mine. As a key member of our underground mining operations, you will be responsible for leading the Longhole Drill & Blast Department, allocating personnel and equipment resources, and ensuring safe and efficient execution of contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Underground Longhole Drill & Blast Department and allocate personnel and equipment resources effectively.
  • Plan and prepare work sites, personnel, and equipment required for upcoming work.
  • Develop a cross-functional workforce and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Support the day-to-day requirements of the Mine Department's contract business partners.
  • Manage all aspects of project performance, including costs, schedule, quality, and reporting.

Requirements:

  • College diploma or degree preferred, but will consider a secondary school diploma with extensive experience and certificates.
  • 5-10 years of underground mining experience, with 2-5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Completion of the Ontario Supervisor's Common Core program.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate others and initiate change that yields positive results.
  • Highly effective communication skills, organization, detailed planning, and execution.

Working Conditions:

The work schedule for this position is 14 days on, 14 days off.
