Role Overview:

This position supports a hybrid work model. The work schedule will be determined in collaboration with the Hiring Manager based on departmental guidelines.

Your Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Telecommunications, you will oversee the monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement of the organization's telephony network infrastructure. Your role will involve providing first and second-level support for the corporate phone system, including critical setups for high-profile events.

You will collaborate with senior staff to document troubleshooting protocols, gather network statistics, and proactively monitor network health through logs and alarms.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Addressing trouble tickets from the Network Operation Centre and managing client telephony requests.
  • Diagnosing network connectivity issues related to telephony.
  • Conducting root cause analysis for any telephony outages.
  • Utilizing network monitoring tools such as Cisco Prime, Avaya, and Solarwinds.
  • Monitoring network infrastructure and responding to alerts.
  • Managing outages through investigation, communication, and escalation.
  • Participating in production changes across the telephony infrastructure.
  • Updating documentation as the environment evolves.
  • Creating support cases with vendors to resolve telephony issues.
  • Maintaining professional communication with clients.
  • Coordinating hardware reconfiguration and installation with regional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in computer science or a related field, with a minimum of three years of experience in network operations, or five years of relevant experience in IT telephony administration.
  • Proficiency in Cisco networking (switching/routing) and various network protocols.
  • Experience with Avaya telephony products and cloud computing concepts.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring systems and packet analysis tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and urgent requests effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to work outside of standard hours and be on call as needed.
