Community Support Worker - Temporary Position

Position Overview:
As a Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role within a dedicated team focused on delivering care and assistance to individuals living in supported housing within their community. Your responsibilities will include fostering independence among the individuals we assist while maintaining high standards of care, health, and safety. Your natural ability to support others and work collaboratively with a diverse team will be essential to our collective success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Honor the rights and preferences of individuals receiving support and advocate on their behalf when needed.
- Engage positively with the individuals under your care.
- Encourage individuals to take an active role in their community.
- Participate in the creation and execution of Personal Service Plans.
- Build strong relationships with the families of individuals, professionals, colleagues, and community members.
- Assist with daily living tasks and medication management.
- Understand principles of behavior management, mental health requirements, and documentation practices.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in individuals' living spaces, including meal preparation and light housekeeping duties.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent certification.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in community social services, healthcare, or caregiving.
- Experience in specialized areas such as Dysphagia, mobility aid usage, and medical procedures.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Clear criminal background check.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
