Security Officer Role at Irving Oil

Are you dedicated to maintaining a secure environment in a fast-paced setting? Irving Oil is in search of a Security Officer to oversee safety measures in our operations. This position is essential for ensuring the protection of all personnel and visitors at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist all individuals entering the premises, whether in person or via phone.
  • Maintain a vigilant presence to enforce safety and security protocols consistently.
  • Coordinate emergency procedures and liaise with both internal teams and external emergency services as required.
  • Implement and uphold the Facility Access Policy, ensuring adherence from all individuals.
  • Serve as a primary contact for various stakeholders within the organization.
  • Address inquiries, requests, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
  • Issue identification passes and monitor visitor access throughout operational hours.
  • Promptly report incidents to the Security Operations Center and collaborate with security personnel as necessary.
  • Prevent unauthorized entry to the site and ensure a secure atmosphere.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to remain calm and composed, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills to manage conflicts and de-escalate situations effectively.
  • Proficient in quick decision-making and problem-solving to tackle unforeseen challenges.
  • Familiarity with security protocols and procedures.
  • Active involvement in fostering a culture of safety and security within the workplace.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid Canadian driver's license is essential.
  • Preference for candidates with a background in Criminal Justice or Police Foundations.
  • First Aid certification is considered an advantageous asset.
