We are in search of approachable and self-assured Security Professionals to serve at various healthcare establishments. This encompasses hospitals, private clinics, long-term care facilities, and more. Our Healthcare management team collaborates with employees to identify a role and work environment that aligns with their personal lifestyles.
This role operates on a 4 on, 4 off schedule, alternating between day and night shifts. To qualify, you must possess flexible availability without any restrictions.
Working in Healthcare Security can be both physically and emotionally challenging. Security Professionals are tasked with delivering support, empathy, customer service, and ensuring public safety for healthcare staff, visitors, clients, and patients alike. The dynamic settings in which our Security Professionals operate can be both rewarding and stimulating, yet also demanding. Our top-tier Healthcare managers offer round-the-clock support to our staff, focusing on proactively reducing risks and providing real-time assistance during incidents.
A typical day for a Healthcare Security Officer includes:
While your specific responsibilities may vary by location, you can anticipate performing the following tasks:
- Manage access control into and out of the facility, including restricted areas.
- Monitor and react to incidents identified via surveillance.
- Conduct facility patrols, looking for potential risks such as unsecured doors, blocked exits, mechanical issues, hazardous materials, and security breaches.
- Respond to alarms and emergency assistance requests.
- Investigate and document any irregularities encountered during your duties.
- Ensure patient safety by monitoring and reporting incidents as necessary.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and proven conflict resolution skills.
- You approach conflict resolution with empathy and appreciate the opportunity to engage with diverse individuals.
- You remain composed under pressure and are confident in your problem-solving skills.
- You recognize the significance of confidentiality in the workplace.
- You are capable of fulfilling all physical demands of the role, including walking up to 20 km per shift, navigating stairs, and pushing/pulling 30-pound doors.
- You hold a valid AB Security license or are willing to obtain one prior to starting with Paladin Security.
