About the Role

As a Patient Care Technician in Owen Sound, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth patient interactions and accurate specimen collection. This position involves greeting patients, explaining procedures, collecting specimens through phlebotomy, ECG tracings, and Holter monitor connections, and preparing specimens for transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting patients, gathering required information, and explaining the specimen collection process.
  • Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect Holter monitors, and conduct ECG tracings with precision and care.
  • Specialize in collecting specimens for various tests, including medical/legal drug screens, paternity tests, and clinical trials, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by responding to inquiries promptly and following up on requests effectively.
  • Accurately enter patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant data into the system.
  • Prepare specimens for transportation and testing according to established protocols.
