About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to lead our IT Development team in Fraud Performance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the technology applications related to Fraud Performance for TD, from strategy to delivery. You will partner with our business partners to develop new models and own the strategic direction for model operations as part of the larger North American Fraud Performance strategic roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Manage the technology applications related to Fraud Performance for TD, from strategy to delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Partner with our business partners to develop new models and lead a team of developers and business systems analysts.
  • Strategic Direction: Own the strategic direction for model operations as part of the larger North American Fraud Performance strategic roadmap.
  • Delivery: Responsible for delivery of new modeling into production to support E2E model platform.
  • Operations: Oversee and be accountable for the end-to-end delivery and operations of Fraud Performance technology solutions with a clear focus on strategic planning, client communication, resourcing, and financial costs on a long-term basis.
  • Technology Roadmap: Accountable for end-to-end technology product roadmap and leadership for Fraud Performance, including design, development, testing & deployment and where possible, leveraging testing automation and continuous integration/deployment.
  • Business Requirements: Ensure a full understanding of business requirements and apply knowledge to escalate/prioritize delivery of new and existing projects.
  • Alignment: Accountable for alignment of technology solutions with TD technology strategies, and Financial Crimes, Payments, and Channels business strategies.
  • Industry Trends: Act as an integrator of solutions; understand industry fraud trends and Fraud target state capability to provide flexible next generation technology and delivery approaches and options to FC&FMG that balance effective fraud detection with service levels, cost, and risk.
  • Reusability and Scalability: Ensure ongoing focus on reusability, scalability, and enterprise-wide solutions, to maximize returns on Fraud Performance applications/systems suite.
  • Coordination: Coordinate technology efforts across all CIO organizations, ITS, Architecture, OCISO, ED&A, and other delivery partners.
  • Risk Management: Ensure operational, reputational, and intellectual risks are understood, and provide advice towards minimizing risk and escalate where appropriate related to Fraud Detection technology.
  • Knowledge and Innovation: Maintain proficient knowledge of the competition, customer / industry trends and technology innovation; identify opportunities for research and suggest solutions as appropriate.
  • Technology Solutions: Keep informed of technology solutions initiatives and IT direction across TD to provide strong support to FC&FMG and other partner businesses.
  • Vendor Alignment: Ensure alignment of vendor technology roadmaps to TD technology strategy.
  • Communication: Communicate business vision / goal and portfolio priorities to team members.
  • Leadership: A leader with influence to promote and drive synergies and commons solutions in Enterprise Protect.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate or Graduate degree, or Technical Certification.
  • Experience: 7-10+ years of relevant experience in technology engineering, technology leadership, delivery, operations and/or application management roles are a definite asset.
  • Technical Skills: Working experience with ML Ops tooling; proven technical skills in one or more of the following areas: Event-driven Architecture, API, Cloud Engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps.
  • Fraud and AML: Knowledge of Fraud and/or AML environments are definite assets.
  • Strategic Direction: Understanding of strategic direction, financial management, and a deep knowledge of TD technology environment and standards (or equivalent large-scale technology environment).
  • Team Leadership: Proven track record of building and leading diverse and highly skilled teams of technology and engineering talent, with the trust and confidence to empower your employees to solve problems and make decisions to maintain speed of delivery while meeting the intent of the project.
  • Collaboration: Promote collaborative culture with a sense of ownership, accountability and transparency.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • People and Time Management: Strong people and time management and organizational skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality work.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal to communicate complex issues in easily understandable terms.
  • Initiative and Adaptability: Self-starter with a high initiative and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • TD's Organizational Structure: Possess a good understanding of TD's organizational structure, businesses and operational footprint globally.
  • Decision-Making: A willingness to speak up and offer a differing opinion when your gut tells you an idea is wrong - but also have the forethought to be part of the solution by recommending an alternate option.
  • Judgment: Apply good judgment by understanding which issues to escalate, what to resolve independently, and provide suggestions for possible resolution.
