Position Summary: The Corporate Insurance Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the management of the organization's insurance and surety portfolios. This position involves conducting various analyses and generating reports related to the portfolio, which includes but is not limited to the annual renewal of insurance and surety, advising on optimal coverage options, assisting with claim settlements, and managing self-insurance initiatives. The Manager is also responsible for ensuring that key objectives are achieved while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the administration and placement of the organization's insurance and surety portfolio.
- Collaborate with the Insurance Broker to prepare and submit all necessary annual renewal applications and documentation.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Insurance Broker, insurance providers, and internal stakeholders regarding insurance requirements, certificates, and claims.
- Monitor and report on the profitability generated by Cargo Insurance and US Bond financial products.
- Review and suggest modifications to vendor and client contracts concerning insurance liability and coverage clauses.
- Participate in or lead projects as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports and analyses for Senior Management, Finance, and the Board as required.
- Develop the annual insurance budget.
- Provide training, mentorship, and coaching to staff as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to propose improvements to existing policies and practices.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and the ability to implement effective solutions.
- Proficient in prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Insurance and Surety.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
Education: An Associate's Degree or equivalent post-secondary education is required.
