Job Title: Administration - Bookkeeper

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at Imperial Theatre. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions, and providing financial reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Management: Maintain detailed and accurate financial records for the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide them to the Executive Director and Board of Directors on a regular basis.
  • Payment Processing: Process payments and invoices, ensuring that all expenses and income are properly recorded and coded.
  • Payroll Management: Manage the organization's payroll, ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile monthly bank statements and ensure that all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Budgeting: Assist the Executive Director and Board of Directors in creating and maintaining the organization's annual budget.
  • Audit Support: Work closely with external auditors to ensure that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date for the annual audit.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all financial records and procedures are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or role in financial services.
  • Skills: Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles, experience with QuickBooks accounting software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, highly organized and detail-oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, time-management and multi-tasking abilities, and a team player with a sense of humor.
